The Velvet Underground & Nico
It is the first album by The Velvet underground, an American rock group. His recording took place with the collaboration of the German voice of Nico, in 1966.
This album is considered a leading pillar of the rock genre. considered by all music critics as revolutionizing, since it is the basis for different sub-genres (punk, alternative rock, post, rock, etc., etc.). Another feature that makes The Velvet Underground & Nico a unique album are its lyrics. The themes dealt with in the different tracks, such as metropolitan life, sexual devotion, drug dealing, drug use or perversion, had never been addressed before by this musical genre. Strong themes, which have allowed the American group to enter the history of music.
The album was produced by as many prominent names, such as Andy Warhol (author of the famous cover) and Tom Wilson.
The National Recording Registry has listed The Velvet Underground & Nico among the assets to be preserved for posterity.
