Maurizio Pollini - The Art of Maurizio Pollini - Box set - 3CD
Maurizio Pollini (Milan, January 5, 1942) is an Italian pianist.
Considered one of the greatest pianists of our time, Maurizio Pollini is best known for his interpretations of Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann and the second Vienna school (Schönberg, Berg and Webern).
Maurizio Pollini He has also often interpreted composers of the Baroque period (such as Bach and Scarlatti), classical (such as Mozart), late-romantic (in particular Brahms, whose second concert is one of his most famous interpretations, and Liszt, especially the Sonata in B minor and the more experimental pieces composed in the last years of his life). At the beginning he had also shown a certain interest in Russian piano literature (especially Prokofiev and Stravinsky), then gradually diminishing. Instead, he has often tried his hand at the execution of works by contemporary authors such as Pierre Boulez, Luigi Nono, Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen, and numerous compositions of our time have been written expressly for him.
