The Kiss Of Venus DVD
Plot The Kiss Of Venus DVD
Conquered by the charm of the statue of the Venus of Anatolia, splendid and albeit inanimate, the window dresser Eddie (Robert Walker) kisses her and assists in dismay at her transformation into a beautiful and sensual woman (Ava Gardner). From that moment his life became a continuous succession of mishaps, adventures and misunderstandings caused, in spite of himself, by the Goddess of Love ... The subject is taken from a famous comedy set to music by Kurt Weill, of which the film also returns the famous musical motif, "Speak low" sung by Eileen Wilson (and in playback by Gardner). Fable full of satirical implications directed by William Seiter, who had already worked with the couples Laurel-Hardy and Astaire-Rogers, "The Kiss of Venus" helped to consecrate the myth of Ava Gardner, in the statuary film like never before.
