Diana Krall Quiet Nights
Quiet Nights is the twelfth record of the Canadian singer and pianist Diana Krall, published on March 31, 2009 by Verve Records. This record marks the return to the collaboration with Claus Ogerman started in 2001 with The Look of Love and Live in Paris. The title of the album is the English translation of Corcovado, a classic of the bossanova, written by Antônio Carlos Jobim that became popular in the 60s. The album reached the second position in the Canadian, Norwegian and New Zealand charts and debuted at number three in the American Billboard 200, French, Spanish and Austrian charts. In Europe it reached the summit in Portugal, Hungary and Poland, the seventh position in Germany, the eighth in Italy and the tenth in Switzerland.
In 2010, the song Quiet Nights won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist at Claus Ogerman.
