Ronan Keating - Songs from Home CD
The album celebrates Ronan Keating's passion for Irish music deeply rooted in his life. Combining traditional poetry and folklore with contemporary tunes, Songs From Home forms the soundtrack to his personal story.
In addition to splendid covers by U2 (Where The Streets Have No Name), Van Morrison (Into the Mystic) and Damine Rice (The Blower's Daughter), we find No Frontiers, an elegant collaboration with singer Mary Black and Heyday, a tribute to music by the recently deceased Mic Christopher. Raglan Road tells the story of a legendary Irish romance well known in the hometown of Ronan Keating. Created on the text of a poem by Patrick Kavanagh, Ronan sings fondly of Raglan Road located in Ballsbridge, Dublin. Summer in Dublin is another nostalgic song for Ronan that is recognized in the heart of the Irish community. As he sings Summer in Dublin, Ronan recalls the heady summer of 1990, just before his Boyzone success and when Ireland's attention was focused on the World Cup.
