Cross-eyed Heart CD by Keith Richards
Third solo album – first in 20 years – by rock legend KEITH RICHARDS.
The 15 tracks contained in "CROSSEYED HEART" encompass everything that made Keith Richards what he is, one of the most celebrated talents of the 20th century, it is a musical journey that ranges from reggae to rock, from country to blues.
The first taste of the album was the single "Trouble", where Keith Richards, who wrote it together with Steve Jordan, is the absolute protagonist playing electric and acoustic guitar, bass and even singing in the backing vocals. There was no shortage of support from old friends Steve Jordan on drums, Waddy Wachtel on guitar and Bernard Fowler on backing vocals.
“It was so cool making this record and working with Steve and Waddy again,” said Keith Richards. “There's nothing like walking into the studio without having a clue of what's going to come out of it. If you're looking for trouble, you've come to the right place."
Keith Richards wrote and co-wrote most of the tracks, many with co-producer Steve Jordan. In evidence "Robbed Blind", with a poignant country flavor, the reactive "Love Overdue", "Blues In The Morning", with a very fitting title, but also the collaborations with various artists, in particular in "Illusion", written and sung together a Norah Jones.
On “CROSSEYED HEART” Keith Richards, who plays electric, acoustic, bass and piano guitars, is supported by guitarist Waddy Wachtel, Steve Jordan on drums and backing vocals, keyboardist Ivan Neville and backing vocalist Sarah Dash, a member of X-Pensive Winos, who accompanied him on his previous solo album.
Other musicians contributed to individual tracks such as composer Stax and keyboardist Spooner Oldham on "Lovers Plea", Larry Campbell on pedal steel guitar on "Robbed Blind" Aaron Neville on backing vocals on "Nothing On Me" and close friend Bobby Saxophone keyboards on "Amnesia" and "Blues In The Morning".
Keith Richards' other solo albums are 1988's "Talk Is Cheap" and 1992's "Main Offender", to which is added "Live at the Hollywood Palladium, December 15, 1988"
