Amy Winehouse Back to Black CD
Back to Black is the second studio album by British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, released on 27 October 2006
Driven by the successful hits Rehab, You Know I'm No Good, Back to Black, Tears Dry on Their Own and Love Is a Losing Game, it was acclaimed by music critics, who, in addition to praising the production of Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, lingered in appreciation of Winehouse's emotional singing style and writing. At the 50th Grammy Awards, Back to Black triumphed in the category of best vocal pop album but was also nominated in the coveted album of the year category. During the same ceremony, the singer won four additional awards which led her to become the second most awarded artist in a single edition, a record shared with five other female colleagues. In addition, the record was also nominated for the 2007 BRIT Awards for British Album of the Year and was also shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize that same year.
With sales of 3.58 million copies in the UK alone, it boasts the title of the second best-selling album in the country of the 21st century and the thirteenth ever in the UK. Up to 2013, the album had sold over 16 million copies worldwide, making it the singer's biggest commercial success.
