Brian May Back to The Light Digipack CD
Back to the Light is the first studio album by British singer Brian May, released on 28 September 1992 by Parlophone.
This is the musician's first release following the death of Freddie Mercury, his bandmate in Queen. Previously to this, May had created in collaboration with other musicians (including Eddie van Halen) the EP Star Fleet Project, released in 1983 under the name Brian May & Friends.
Among the songs, Driven by You, originally composed by May for the Ford commercial and also contained in Queen's Greatest Hits III collection. Resurrection, with Cozy Powell on drums and Don Airey on additional keyboard, which reflects the overcoming of a difficult moment in his life, caused by the loss of Mercury and the separation from his wife; the Europa-inspired instrumental Last Horizon by Carlos Santana and Nothin' but Blue played on an Ibanez gifted by his guitarist friend Joe Satriani with John Deacon on bass. Among the credits, we can find a heartfelt dedication from the author and thanks to all those who supported him and helped him through these difficult years, in which he had to face a setback with Queen, his separation from first wife and the loss of his father.
The Queen songs Headlong and I Can't Live with You were originally intended for inclusion on this album, but when Brian May heard Freddie Mercury sing them he immediately decided they would be better used for Queen's Innuendo record.
