CAHOOTS, the Band's fourth studio album released in 1971, is celebrated with new expanded, remixed and remastered editions.
On December 10, 2021, Capitol/Universal Music will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the album which has been remixed and expanded for the occasion and will be released in various editions: Super DeLuxe Boxset, Double CD and LP with Half Speed Mastering and 180g Vinyl.
All versions of the Anniversary Edition have been supervised by Robbie Robertson and feature a new stereo mix of the original multi-track masters by Bob Clearmountain. Box set and double CD contain previously unreleased recordings, including Live at the Olympia Theatre, Paris, May 1971, a rousing 11-song concert recording, alternate versions of "Endless Highway" and "When I Paint My Masterpiece" and others six tracks including early takes, outtakes, instrumentals and stripped-down mixes.
Exclusively for the box set, Clearmountain has also created new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 Surround Sound mixes of the album and the four bonus tracks on the Blu-ray, along with the new stereo mix. The set also includes an exclusive replica of the Japanese pressing of the 1971 7” vinyl single "Life Is A Carnival"/ "The Moon Struck One" with the new stereo mixes; 20-page booklet with notes by Robbie Robertson and bio-record notes by Rob Bowman; three lithographs, one by Barry Feinstein, one by Richard Avedon (his famous blindfolded portrait of the group from the back cover) and one by Gilbert Stone (author of the stunning portrait of The Band on the album cover).
