Robert Glasper is one of the most versatile musicians of recent years. With a jazz background, since the beginning of the last decade he has launched with excellent results in a neo-soul of great impact, a link between his roots and the contemporary beats of hip-hop. “Fuck Yo Feelings” (a title that is all a program) is his latest recording effort released in digital format before and recently also available in physical format (cd and vinyl).
Often those who come from jazz and then move on to neo-soul and hip-hop territories are not immune to the criticisms of the purists and with this new work Robert Glasper (starting from the title) seems to want to answer them that they don't care what they think and what they think. wanting to continue on his way by experimenting in great freedom. And here he does it great by inviting a large number of voices and rappers from the underground scene with the addition of a proven Bilal and an institution like Herbie Hancock, an artist to whom the Texan pianist owes a lot.
The work is the result of 2 days of recording at Henson Studios in Hollywood and was released on the Loma Vista Recordings label.
