EX-Otago Carochinato Vinyl
Corochinato is the sixth studio album by the Italian musical group Ex-Otago, released on February 8, 2019
Anticipated by the singles Tutto bene, questo Notte and Bambini, the album was released in conjunction with the single Solo una song, presented at the Sanremo Festival 2019, [1] and consists of ten songs.
It takes its name from Corochinato, a typical aperitif of the Ligurian capital, as explained in an interview with Claudio Cabona for the 19th century. Regarding the choice of the name, the singer of the group Maurizio Carucci said:
"It is an aromatized wine that in ancient times was made with the white of Coronata, which is a district of Genoa where there were vineyards, and cinchona, that is various spices. It is an aperitif that has become rare today, which is drunk in very few decrepit places in the historic center, really three or four. It has a very limited production and above all it is drunk in a beautiful moment of the day, when you finish work and go to these bars and drink this Corochinato, also called "donkey", and discuss, pontificate about the various events of our society . [...] Since titling a record is always a difficult operation, it breaks brains, it seemed to us that this drink could embody not only the record but also our project because all these characteristics are also very good on us, we feel them a lot on us. This is why we wanted to dedicate this record to this wine, which has necessarily also become ours "
