Caparezza Exuvia Double Colored Vinyl Transparent Cover
"Capa presents a rapped record with a flow and a champion attitude, in which rock, electronics and the use of strings intersect in a pertinent way, as well as absurd and magical samples such as the beating of his heart or phrases hidden that can be heard in the mono-stereo audio passage »- Rockol.it
Four years after Prisoner 709, Caparezza is back with a new album of unreleased songs to be released on May 7, 2021.
EXUVIA, his eighth studio album, contains 14 songs and 5 skits: written, composed, produced by Caparezza and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge. Exuvia is the term that describes the old insect skin after moulting. Caparezza borrows this scientific term to describe her personal transformation, her journey from the past to the present.
The disc thus celebrates the rite of passage, the detachment and escape from one's own "exuvia" as he himself says: «EXUVIA is what remains of the body of some insects after having developed a formal change. A perfect cast, so precise in the details that it seems like a sculpture, a kind of transparent case that once housed life and now stands there, motionless, a simulacrum of a phase that has now passed. On the cover there is a symbol that represents the passage from a current condition (large circle) to a future one (small circle) through a series of spirals (symbol of death and rebirth in most cultures). My EXUVIA is therefore a rite of passage in 14 songs, the path of a fugitive who escapes from the prison of the past to let himself be swallowed by the forest and to lose his tracks. I really spent all my energy getting out of my EXUVIA, but I will talk about that in due course. The journey has begun ».
