The Ex Specie Delta set (Delta Species in English) was released in Italy at the end of 2005. This set consists of 114 cards including 20 rare oleographic Pokémon, 3 Pokémon Ex (less presence of Pokémon Ex among all the sets of the Ex series) , 3 Pokémon star.
The set introduces a new type of Pokémon: Pokémon Delta. These new Pokémon are species of Pokémon with very special characteristics. They seem to have changed following some electromagnetic experiments carried out by scientists from the city of Holon. Often you will find yourself faced with Pokémon of an unusual type; an example? Have you ever seen a Lightning Dragonite !? Also keep in mind that each Delta Pokémon, in addition to its new type (which is usually its very opposite, for example a Water Pokémon often becomes Fire) will have the Metal type. The Dragonite Delta mentioned above is in fact of the Lightning-Metal type.
Delta Pokémon are easily recognizable. Next to the name they have precisely the lowercase delta of the Greek alphabet (δ). The holographic cards in this set have the particularity of having a shiny patina on the Pokémon in the figure and on the edge of the card.
On the packages and on the thematic decks we see some powerful Pokémon present in the set: Dragonite, Salamence, Metagross, Crobat and Rapidash.
Particularly the introduction in the set of Castform, inserted in the normal form, sunny, rainy and snowy, and of Ditto, inserted in the normal form, of Bulbasaur, Charmender, Squirtle, Mr. Mime, Pikachu and Geodude.
