Daniil Trifonov Plays Frederic Chopin CD
At just 20 years old, the Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov is the new phenomenon of world pianism: in the space of a year he has established himself in some of the most prestigious international competitions:
- First Prize at the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (2011)
- 1st Prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Competition in Tel Aviv (2011)
as well as 3 Special Awards (Best Chamber Music Performance, Best Chopin Performance and Audience Award)
- 3rd place at the International Chopin Competition as well as the Award for the best performance of the Mazurkas
The victory at the Tchaikovsky definitively projected this young talent into the Olympus of world stars as happened in 1958 to another young American pianist until then unknown to the majority of the international public: Van Cliburn.
His new CD recorded live in Venice and Sacile before the Chopin competition has been available for a few weeks, testifying to an evident talent regardless of the exceptional results obtained subsequently. In fact, a few minutes are enough to see how an impeccable technique is accompanied by an uncommon maturity that makes Trifonov one of the new stars of world pianism.
