Caterina and Petruccio, in a comic reinterpretation of William Shakespeare, who tells us about male chauvinism and the claim of female freedom set in the 16th century. Petruccio is a poor gentleman from Verona, who goes to Padua in search of a wealthy wife. Here he meets the proud catherine, a bitchy woman with a strong personality who just doesn't want to learn marriage. Their union is a continuous humorous battle based on shrewdness and insults, with Caterina absolutely determined to maintain her independence and Petruccio more and more willing to "tame" her. In the end it will seem to have succeeded, but in reality Caterina has found only a more effective way to dominate her companion herself
