Cesare Picco releases his new album for the first time on the Decca Records label.
Always considered one of the most authoritative musicians of that current commonly known today as "neoclassical" together with Ludovico Einaudi, Olafur Arnalds, Max Richter, Picco has established himself in the world as a brilliant and committed artist. Pianist, but more generally a multifaceted and eclectic artist, able to range from classical to electronic music, from baroque to jazz, Picco has been able over the years to create his own unmistakable style, and also magical appointments such as the famous "concerts in the dark" . An artist of great substance and commitment, he has chosen a strongly symbolic and evocative title for his album: "The Last Gate".
“If the Earth is sick, we are sick. This is an awareness that is fortunately growing in the world, as we know that we are all connected in this destiny and that each of us has a part to play...": essentially we are faced with important and undelayable choices, which require taking of decided position, we are in front of “The Last Gate”.
The album is enriched by the presence, in addition to the piano, of a cello, of a moderate electronic component, but above all of the harmonium, an ancient instrument, but also so modern due to its sound that the artist defines as "natural", and which fits perfectly not only in the sonority, but also in the philosophy of the new album.
