Giorgio Poi - Vinyl foam rubber
Gommapiuma is the new recording project by Giorgio Poi, available from Friday 3 December for Bomba Dischi / Island Records. The album, preceded by the singles I Pomeriggi and Giorni Felici, is the third album of unreleased songs that arrives two years after the previous Smog.
Foam rubber lands directly from the candied and parallel world of Giorgio Poi, where the dreamy and dreamy dimension of the singer-songwriter intersects with images capable of synthesizing reality, the daily life of which Giorgio becomes a skilled director by delivering his most poetic version of reality. The album is an emotional refuge, a road that decompresses distortions and background noises to allow yourself a journey through the clouds, always landing on soft ground. Gommapiuma is a suspended disc, a seesaw that swings in the sky between the pink of dawn and the saturated colors of sunset.
Giorgio Poi was born in Novara but raised in Rome. After trips to London, Berlin and the States, “Fa Niente” arrives in 2017, released by Bomba Dischi/Universal and welcomed by the press and critics. Exceptional singer-songwriter and musician with an incessant live activity and fruitful collaborations with artists on the Italian and international scene behind him, he released his second album "Smog" in 2019. After signing the original soundtrack of Summertime (Netflix), he returns in autumn 2021 with I Pomeriggi, a single that marks his return to the scene and Happy Days written inspired by the homonymous book by the cartoonist Zuzu, who also edited for the occasion the official cover of the song.
