Disney - Pixar Cars Hydro Wheels - Rip Clutchgoneski
Rip is a 2005 Formula 6000 Racer according to the Meet the Cars book. He is powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V-8 with 650 horsepower, an engine typically used by Indy cars between 2003 to 2011. He can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 199 mph.

Rip's design is a Pixar in-house design based on the 2007 Dallara IR-05 IndyCar. Based on an early concept design, Rip was envisioned as a late 2000's IndyCar. His vehicle model year, 2005, is a reference to when Dallara originally introduced this car in 2005 as an aerodynamic kit to replace the current chassis, the IR-03.
Another heavy inspiration for Rip's design was the 2005 Hulme F1 Supercar, which Rip features many similar design cues such as his wheel covers, rear wing, body shape, and headlights (Although the headlights resemble those from the Caparo T1 as well). After Hulme's developers reportedly saw this in an unfavorable light and found Rip so similar to their car, they considered making a legal action against Disney. However, Rip does differ from the Hulme CanAm by several design elements which are inspired after those seen on a IndyCar (IndyCar-like air intake, different side vents, different wheels, etc.). Rip has the Hulme's characteristic orange color (although the Caparo too is frequently presented in orange), and furthermore, concept art reveals he was first designed with black wheel covers, exactly like the Hulme car.
Hydro Wheels is a toy line manufactured by Mattel, that featured several Pixar Cars characters, they were first released in 2013, but were discontinued in 2016 and replaced by the Splash Racers in 2017. Hydro Wheels items were in 1:55 scale, and were made of plastic. They could float, and were made to be played with in water. They could be pulled back to race on land or water. Some larger characters, such as Mack and Red, featured additional play features, such as the ability to shoot water.
