Bastille Doom Days Vinyl
Doom Days, the third Bastille album, released by Dan Smith with teammates Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson, Chris 'Woody' Woody Wood and producer Mark Crew. Doom Days marks a kind of perception change from the previous album 'Wild World'. Recorded last year in the band's South London studio, the new album is about the need to escape.
The listener is as if dragged into an evening of fun, looking for distraction from the surrounding apocalypse. The album ironically tackles modern anxieties, telephone addiction, addiction to pornography, false news and the denial of climate change; it's a record full of energy and ideas. Its sound ranges from gospel, house music and R&B and draws inspiration from their acclaimed Re-Orchestrated tour.
The unique sound of the Bastille is a cinematic pop, curious and changeable that, in the lyrics, hides unusual topics and dark realities. Having sold over eight million albums and over six and a half billion streams, the band is still one of the most listened to artists in the world on Spotify. Their previous albums both debuted at number one in the UK and were in the top ten on the US chart.
