Iggy Pop Zombie Birdhouse LP
Caroline International reissues Iggy Pop's album "Zombie Birdhouse" released on June 28, 2019
It is Iggy's sixth solo album, produced by Chris Stein (Blondie) and originally released in 1982 on the indie label Animal Records (Gun Club, Tav Falco, James White And The Blacks…).
The disc is a departure from the wild Rock'n'Roll of the first solo recordings in favor of a more experimental and minimalist sound based on Drone, Afrobeat and freeform lyrics. The single "The Villagers" was released on vinyl (7 ") on the occasion of Record Store Day 2019. This new edition of" Zombie Birdhouse "contains an unreleased version of" Pain and Suffering "with guest Debbie Harry, the song originally came recorded and never released for the movie "Rock & Rule".
The reissue of "Zombie Birdhouse" has been remastered by Paschal Byrne at the Audio Archive studios in London, contains new bio-record notes by Irvine Welsh and rare photographs from Esther Friedman's original photoshoot.
Iggy Pop plays one of the Zombies in Jim Jarmusch's new film, "The Dead Don't Die", which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released in theaters on June 13, 2019.
