All Shakespeare's fault
It is curious to think how the world we live in manages to persuade us that we are the only one possible, with its time, its habits and its laws.
Claire lives in London, has Italian origins, a passion for swimming and no experience in relationships.
All she wants is to enjoy her senior year of college and commit to being admitted to a college swim team.
The problems for her begin when for a literature assignment, the staging of Romeo and Juliet, she has to pair up with her neighbor. Captain of the school football team, green eyes and mocking smile. Harry is the typical guy that everyone wants but that Claire has always avoided because he is conceited, unfriendly, instinctive.
And he too can't stand Claire, so perfect, so naive: she's never gone with a guy, she doesn't even know what a kiss means and she still believes that passion is just light and thrills.
And then there is the world around it. Harry's father is in jail and has not responded to his letters that he has been sending him for years. Claire knows full well that the date with life is close to coming and she can't escape for much longer. Two feelings that collide, two lives divided from everything around them but united by the desire to hear new things because sometimes, as Shakespeare says, "what love wants love dares".
