L'Orizzonte Rosato del Tempo Lillo di Mauro
- Plot L'Orizzonte Rosato del Tempo Lillo di Mauro
“When I write poetry I feel like the stars wandering in the sky with their flashing light. My poetry lives on signs and symbols, with my poetic word I announce events. I live in the imagination, I stay there, I love to seduce with words and symbols to make the world that chains our lives bearable. I sink into the depths of the world and beyond into infinity, to scrutinize its mystery. I write poetry to save myself from my damnation, from my destiny. "
Lillo di Mauro, a poet with a rare and boundless sensitivity, returns with a collection of raw and powerful poems, in which the memory, always alive, of a troubled and compromised childhood is linked to melancholy and amazement for a present that always shows itself irremediably marked by regret.
In the four sections that make up this collection we find the themes of youth, love and the first homosexual experiences lived in the suburbs and in the secret of Rome, a great theater where the game of the forbidden is played, but where the rebellious need to go out also matures. from the shadows and, finally, to say: it is the word, in fact, and poetry even more than anything else, that becomes true and perhaps the only instrument of redemption and order in a universe distorted by nostalgia, by lack, by the torment of unforeseen possibilities. explore. And only poetry can, with the liberating force that belongs to it, oppose the decay of the body and time.
In these poems - in which, as the author warns, the echo of the readings that accompanied his poetic flowering is felt: from Rilke to Wilde, from Saba to Rimbaud, from Dickinson to Pasolini and Sandro Penna - the free verse, the abundant and warped metaphors, the references to nature, its foliage, the sounds and colors of another landscape transport the reader into a dreamlike dimension, where it is possible to declare one's identity, black on white, without concealing anything about oneself.
