The birth of one of the most important car races in the world is also linked to this dynasty: the Targa Florio which - started in 1906 and ended in 1977 - is among the oldest competitions of the last century.
A story within history, which adds charm to a mosaic made up of many tiles, including probably the most glittering one of Donna Franca, the "queen" of the dynasty. A woman who, alongside her husband Ignazio jr, embodied the Belle Epoque for better or for worse, delivering her figure to the common memory as one of the icons of the so-called Short Century, helping to transform the parable of the Sicilian dynasty into a legend .
