Hervè Le Tellier L'anomalia
Winner of the 2020 Goncourt Prize - In the five of the 2021 European Witch Prize
In an unpredictable novel - where literature defies logic, science, everything we believe in - Hervé Le Tellier tells the truth and his deceptions, in search of the hidden anomaly that can touch the life of each of us.
"Built around a surprising and unsettling technological-philosophical hypothesis, The anomaly plays with our certainties and fears, intertwines real and virtual, feelings and algorithms, politics and religion, the theme of the double and that of manipulation" - Fabio Gambaro, Robinson
"A wonderful novel" - Joël Dicker
«An erudite and exciting novel of novels» - Stefano Montefiori, la Lettura
In March 2021, an Air France Boeing 787 flying from Paris to New York encounters major turbulence before landing. Three months later the same plane, with the same passengers and an identical crew, contacts the flight controllers of JFK airport. The inexplicable duplication worries the CIA, FBI and military high command, who hijack the plane at a military base. Investigations by the United States and other powers unleash a planetary manhunt to track down the mysterious doubles of all the people on board. But during those three fatal months, the lives of some of them changed forever: those who fought an incurable disease, those who achieved success only after an extreme gesture, those who found love and those who left forever, who has finally faced his lies. Everyone believed they had a secret life. No one imagined to what extent this was true.
"I don't particularly like the word destiny. It's just a target drawn, a second later, where the arrow is stuck."
