While Jerusalem prepares for the invasion of the Crusaders, a Greek man, known as the Coptic, gathers all the inhabitants of the city, young and old, women and children, in the square where Pilate had delivered Jesus to his end. The crowd is made up of Christians, Jews and Muslims, and they all gather in anticipation of a speech that will prepare them for the upcoming battle, but that is not what the Coptic is talking about: the old sage, in fact, invites them to address the their attention to the teachings that come from everyday life, from the challenges and difficulties that must be faced.
According to the Coptic, true wisdom comes from love, from losses suffered, from moments of crisis as well as from those of glory, and from daily coexistence with the inevitability of death.
