Mille e una Musica Ramin Bahrami
A brief history of Persian music
- Plot Mille e una Musica Ramin Bahrami
Ramin Bahrami, world-famous pianist trained in Italy but of Iranian origins, is confronted, for the first time, with the history of one of the most ancient civilizations in the world, discovering the musical origins of the Persian world. A fascinating universe of which we know very little, due to the lack of written sources, but which represents a fundamental step in the development of culture between Asia and Europe.
The Persians, always at the center of commercial exchanges, were able to mix their experiences with those of the Mesopotamian civilizations, giving life to a multifaceted musical world, between poetry, dance and song, which would have decisively influenced the Greeks and with them the whole West.
Ramin Bahrami reconstructs this exciting story through the study of texts and archaeological finds and his sensibility as a musician, to the discovery of ancient sounds that, even today, re-emerge surprisingly in the scores of Bach and Beethoven.
